Bread

March 29, 2009

Zoe likes bread. I  mean, she loves it!

Her first bread was at the Kindy, white toast with butter. Then yesterday we went to the Parc Cafe down the road (just beside Terrys!) and Zoe had sourdough bread. Proper bread! She devoured it…

Papa says she’s a true German! ;-)

1 1/2 teeth

March 25, 2009

Zoe’s teeth are coming through. So you can imagine how our last days have been…Zoe had some difficult days, poor thing, but hopefully it’s over for a while. At least until the next pair come through ;-)

Here are a couple of pictures from today: we were listening to “Palavra Cantada” (the name of the Brazilian band, for children), with mamae singing, clapping, and jumping while Zoe laughed and banged onto the bucket. Que bagunca! A lot of (crazy) fun!!

ps. Papa says she’s a “verruecktes Kueken” (something like “franguinho doido” in Portuguese, or “crazy chick”  in English)

p.s first finger food

March 21, 2009

I forgot to add this last one: her first finger food, a piece of watermelon! Zoe wasn’t very sure what to do with that soft cube, so she was first playing with the watermelon, until we showed her she could actually eat it…so sweet!

Land and air

March 21, 2009

Our little Zoe is not that little any more! You might remember when we wrote about size 0000 or 000? Oh well, now she’s moving to size 0 already!

Here is a set of pics of Zoe having fun in the air – flying an aeroplane is one of her favourites! And the other set is on land, her favourite spot:  the (expanded) comando central/zentralkommando, which now spreads over our picnic blanket… Zoe is slowly taking over the flat! ;-)

The power of avocado

March 14, 2009

Avocado. Tofu. Ricotta. The three most important foods in our kitchen! The secret in Zoe’s menu… She’s been eating so much recently, and if we add one of the three secret ingredients to her chicken, fish or veggies, she’ll devour them!! So we now alternate them: one week everything with tofu, the other week all with fresh ricotta. Avocado to top up. It’s so much fun feeding her nowadays! See pictures below.

Otherwise, nothing much to tell… We’ve been working like crazy, and luckily Zoe has settled so well at the kindy. On the weekends we are out and about, and time just flies by. Zoe is almost 7 months!

Well, our little princess is just growing day by day. We both have the feeling that she has developed even faster since being in the kindergarten. We think it might be the “older sibling” syndrome, in that she is copying the older children at the kindy. She loves watching them running and screaming around, ….mmmhhh maybe not such a great role model in the end… hahaha

Anyway, she is sitting now also by herself and loves to play with all things around. Nene and I have  set up a comando central/Zentralkommando (see pictures), from which she can control everything… and with everything we mean basically us. Note for example the telephone with a direct line to the people that matter, her laptop model “Abacus” and the clothes pegs on the box, which essentially keep her universe in balance…

Not to forget the carefully placed cushions around our leader…aeh I mean daughter, which allow her to fall into a soft abyss after an exhausting day at the office… not an easy life as a 6 month-old…
