The green peg

May 26, 2009

Just a little series of shots that we love.  Zoe is crazy about the clothes’ pegs, holds them while crawling, take them to the bath, to the car…

Beach excursions etc

May 23, 2009

Just some impressions here of our past weeks with no real theme – except maybe the beach locations (Bondi and Coogee), which is one of the advantages of living here. Oh well, at least something here at the end of the world!!

We’ve been enjoying the beaches, especially on the weekends (no matter which season!). It is really fun to chase the seagulls, play with the sand, and eat it… well, that’s probably Zoe’s opinion!

From our perspective, just being able to relax and smell the sea makes a huge difference…

More water

May 22, 2009

And the fascination for water continues: not only in the bath, but also in her special cup, from which she can drink on her own. Little Zoe is starting to enjoy her independence!

Catching water

May 20, 2009

Here another video of our beloved little one. As you can see, she still loves, loves, loves the bathtime. She can sit in the water for hours and by now always complaints when we take her out of the bath.

She also has a fascination with water itself and is still trying to understand why she  can never really get a hold of this stuff – how frustrating and fascinating at the same time!

But have a look at the video which explains this much better than any of my words.

…and there was another visit.  My sister Sabine and her husband Stefan flew the long way to see our little Zoe and enjoy the time with her.  It seems they had a really good time here and enjoyed the Australian beaches as well as some of the National Parks. Once back we spent again a few days with them before their departure. Zoe was completely taken by aunty Bine and her crazy facial expressions – reminded her of her father presumably.  She was also so happy with uncle Stefan and loved sitting on his lap reading a book or being carried around by him.

Well, now the good times are over againfor Zoe because she is left “only” with Papa and Mama and there is no 24hour attention by other people. Thank god we are travelling soon and she can enjoy the company of lots of people again… did I just say “thank God we are traveling soon”, I must be out of mind to look forward spending another 55 hours in aeroplanes, this time with a crawling baby.  hahaha

Always a new challenge around the corner for parents… that’s what I have learnt so far in the last 8 months of parenthood.

Freya’s visit

May 9, 2009

Freya visited for the first time Australian shores and was joined by Gudrun and Tobe to keep her company… and provide the occasional breastmilk ;-)

She is such a cute little girl and was always happy and content, as you can see from the pictures. We had such a great time together by  going for breakfast, relaxing near the beach and even visiting the Zoo. Freya and Zoe enjoyed each others company a lot. Well, after a spell of jealousy Zoe started enjoying Freya’s company ;-)   Zoe was also very happy to be taught by Gudrun how to make the sound of the “boese Katze” (“bad cat” – see pic) . Hopefully, we see them all again soon.
